Anthony R. “Tony” Schmidt, age 61 of Covington, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home.  Tony was born in Piqua on March 1, 1956 to S.R. & Joanne (Forsyth) Schmidt; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1975; Mill Operator with Faurecia, Troy; worked for Copperweld, Piqua for 27 years; a member of the Spirit of Life Church, Piqua and loved his Harley-Davidson.  Preceded in death by his father, S.R. “Shorty” Schmidt in 2014.  Tony is survived by his mother, Joanne Schmidt of Bradford; his wife of 41 years, Cheryl A. (Zacharias) Schmidt; his children, Josh Schmidt of Tipp City, A. Lee & Ashley Schmidt of Brookville, Rachel Schmidt of Covington; his siblings, Linda Scalf of Bradford, James Schmidt of Englewood, Ruthann & Jeff Hudleson of Bradford, Janet & Rodney Sprenkel of  Covington; mother-in-law, Marian Zacharias of Covington; sister-in-law, Connie Clark of Covington, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen & Heather Zacharias of Covington; and “his” dog, Ozzy.  Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Kent VanHoose officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  The family will receive friends 9:00 A.M.
