Dorothy Jane (Sellers) Porter, age 90 of Piqua, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at UpperValley Medical Center, Hospice Unit, Troy.  She was born in Onekama, MI on November 10, 1926 to the late Edmond & Ida (Kintner) Sellers; a lifetime member of the Covington Church of the Brethren, where she worked diligently for many years, she was a member of the choir & Women’s Fellowship, served as Sunday School Superintendent, director of Vacation Bible School, a deaconess; worked at Wilson’s Department Store, Covington; retired from Quality Forms, Piqua. Dorothy was known for sending cards to hundreds of people & was loved much by her family & friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, who she married July 19, 1947, Ray Porter, who passed away October 13, 2016; 2 sisters, Ruth Mann & Pauline Deal; brother, Wilbur Sellers.

Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters, Lesley & husband  Richard Young of Piqua, Robin Frodyma of Beavercreek; four grandchildren, Zachary (Anissa) Weymer of Sidney, Gunnar (Stephanie) Weymer of Sidney, Andrea (Brent) Overfield of Beavercreek, Whitney (Dr. Chris) Malone of Canton; five great-grandchildren, Layne Weymer, Gunnar Weymer, Gabbrielle Weymer, Rosalyn Weymer, Gideon Weymer. 

Funeral service 12:00 Noon Tuesday at the Covington Church of the Brethren, 101 N. Wall Street, Covington with Pastor Michael Yingst officiating.  Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Covington Church of the Brethren.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
