Ethel R. Janus, age 95 of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Covington Care Center.  Ethel was born in Chicago, IL on June 10, 1921 to the (late) Edward & Ethel (Chafin) Buckley; graduate of Englewood High School, Chicago; retired from American Can Company, Chicago; founded two Bunco Clubs, Chicago; bowled for two bowling leagues with many trophies in Chicago; President and Secretary for the American Can Company Retiree Group; member of the United Methodist Church, Chicago; attended Latter Day Saints, Piqua; and was a second mom to all her nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Janus in 1972l two brothers, Arthur William Buckley and Edward Norman Buckley; and two sisters, Bernice Buckley Abshire and Dorothy Mabel Buckley Laushot.  Ethel is survived by her four nieces, Joyce & Dwayne Robertson, Diana & Stephen Good, all of Covington, Nancy McClurg of Piqua, Doreen & Chris Miller of Springboro; lots of great and great-great-nieces and nephews that called her “Grandma Sissy”.  Everyone that new and loved Ethel called her “Aunt Sis”.  Funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington.  Visitation at 3:00 P.M. Sunday until time of service at the funeral home.  Interment 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Oak Hill II Cemetery, Chicago, IL.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
