Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Wight, age 84 of Covington, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Hospice Unit at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  Jerry was born to the (late) Don Carlos & Pearl (Fagan) Wight on May 24, 1933 in Piqua; was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean War; married his wife of 68 years on July 2, 1949, Lois Ann (Levering) Wight; worked at carpenter construction before starting his own business, Wights Construction which he operated for 34 years; was a life member of the VFW Post #4235, Covington; a life member of Moose Lodge #1473, Celina, life member of AMVETS Post #66, Covington; and a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998.  Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Neva Perkins, Juanita Yaney & Donna Hamilton; two brothers, Bill Wight and Carlos Wight; and grandson, Jeremiah Bubeck.  Jerry is survived by his wife, Lois Ann; four children, Jerry & Betsy Wight Jr., Debra Staudt, Jan Wight, Beck & Rick Bubeck; grandchildren, Jack & Melissa Staudt, Jason Staudt, Sommer & John Basye, Alisha Wight and fiancé, Brian Johnson, Preston & Dana Wight, Justin & Sonny Wight, and Austin & Gina Wight; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Dylan, Bryce and Crile Staudt, Owen Landis, Asa Bayse, Olivia, Jamie, and Alexis Wight; sister and brother-in-law, Jean & Ralph Caven of Piqua; brother and sister-in-law, Howard & Nancy Phillips of Piqua; other relatives and friends.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
