Jack L. Herron, age 80, lifetime resident of Covington, died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.  He was born June 8, 1937 in Miami County to the late Kenneth “Carl” & Eunice (Swallow) Herron; attended Covington High School; worked at French Oil for 23 years; drove a semi-truck for Hobart, Earhart & Rudy’s; & farmed.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Camilee Herron; brothers, Carl “Sonny” Herron & Rex Herron; & sister, Virginia Causey.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte (Stengel) Herron; 3 sons, Scott Herron of Piqua, Todd Herron of Bradford & Jack Herron II of Terra Haute, IN; daughter-in-law, Diane Herron of Covington; 7 grandchildren, Crystal (Anthony) Ferrel of Germany, Mitchell (Tay) Herron of Inola, OK, Michelle (Ryan) Vanderhorst of Covington, Harley Herron of Bradford, Heather (Nathan) Midlam of Ansonia, Sam (Christina) Herron of Troy, & William Moore of Fletcher; 13 great grandchildren, Samaura Hart, Katie, William & Gabe Herron, Makayla & Makenzie Vanderhorst, Natalie, Hailie, Addison, Katie & Kelsie Midlam; Katelynn & Allison Herron; 2 brothers, Ben (Mickel) Herron of Bradford & Larry (Pat) Herron of Piqua; 3 sisters, Pauline (Elliot) Epperson of Piqua, Karen (Bob) Smith of Celina & Teresa (“Doc”) Putnam of Piqua; special friends, Kathy, Cindy, & Shannon, and John & Lois Wood; & other relatives & many friends.
