James Frederick "Fred" Prange, age 75 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Covington Care Center.  Fred was born in Parkersburg, WV on April 13, 1941 to the (late) Nelson Frederick & Edna Blair (Vandervort) Prange; was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, Class of 1960; was an U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran serving from 1961 to 1965; was a locksmith at Ace Hardware in Sidney and Troy with 30 years of service; was a lifetime member with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 97, Huber Heights; and was very active with the Veteran's Museum in Troy.  Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 41 years, Barbara Diane (Stocker) Prange in 2010; and sister, Edna Lucretia Astle.  Fred is survived by his four daughters, Elizabeth & Jeff Schroyer of Troy, Jennifer Prange & Ben Hall of Tipp City, Amanda & Robb Wilges of Jacksonville, NC, Mary & Paul Lankford of Covington; 13 grandchildren, Grady & Maddie, Cadalynn, Grace, Layton, LaShay, Payton,  Nathan, Andon,  Cale, CJ, Vanessa, Sophia, Gauge; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard & Carol Stocker; six nieces and nephews and their families; and numerous "adopted" children and grandchildren.  Funeral service 7:00 P.M. Friday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Bill Marker officiating.  The family will receive friends 4:00 P.M. Friday until time of service at the funeral home.  If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
