Richard John Dershem, age 61 of Bradford, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Hospice Care Unit at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.  He was born March 16, 1955 in Piqua to the late Joyce Duane & Myrtle B (Merica) Dershem; worked as a polisher at Tooling Technology in Ft. Loramie for many years; loved his family & loved to drive.

Preceded in death by his parents; & infant brother, Eldon Merica.

Richard is survived by 2 children, Tannia (Kelly) Hartman of Pleasant Hill & John Allen Dershem of Tipp City; 6 grandchildren, Kevin Wood, Avery & Alex Hartman, Shelbie, Toni & Sully Dershem; 2 brothers, Bill (Janet) Dershem & Tom (Becky) Dershem, all of Greenville; 2 sisters, Betty (Lawrence) Platfoot of Russia & Nancy (Mark) Riegle of Bradford; & long time family friend, Jack Chappie.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Daryl Peeples officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County, PO Box 781, Greenville, OH 45331.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
