With only hours before I was to leave the country for a vacation I am sadly informed of the loss of Tim. A husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend. As I reflect on our lives and how they intertwined, I seem to only remember the good times and push back any that might have not been so good as few as there may have been. As one great man once said, "We have met on a great battlefield" and that is where Tim and I met. Oh no, it's not what you would say was a battlefield, but in fact it, was to us. It was Street Racing back in the late 1960s and 70s. We eat, drank and slept racing with the hope of having the fastest cars in the county. I have to admit I never beat Tim in a race. He and I became close friends back then and as many friends do they drift apart over time. Be it family or distance or for whatever reasons it happens. Over the years, as I visited Troy, I would stop in and talk to Tim. Looking back I wish I had made more time for that. I enjoyed finding out how his children were doing. He spoke of them always with a sense of pride, he was so very proud of you all. The best thing I ever got out of meeting Tim was getting to hang out with his family. Whenever I went over to Tim's house to work on cars or just visit there was always a welcome from everyone. I know this is hard on everyone but as life throws us this inevitable circle of life remember we all live through our children and their children. With that, Tim certainly lives on through his wonderful family. My condolences to you all. I wish "Uncle Dick" could be there to give you all a big hug. I will miss those visits and will have to have solace that Tim is listening as I pray. But maybe he is too busy fishing in that big pond in heaven. My love to the family especially Sharon and the children, brothers and sister. Love you all Dick Decker
