Wilma Joan Harshbarger, age 77, of Casstown, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at her home.  Joan was born January 10, 1939 in Covington, OH to the late William Andrew & Cora Belle (Sanford) Wright; attended Covington Schools; earned her Associate Degree at Sinclair Community College; was a case worker for Miami County Job & Services; worked at the Miami County Board of Elections; worked at A.O. Smith, Tipp City; a charter member of the Tri Village Memorial Color Guard; a member of the AMVETS, Post #66, Covington; Past Department of Ohio President of the AMVETS Auxiliary; a member of the VFW, Post #5436, Troy; a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA); & attended Troy Christian Community Church.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lowell Edwin Harshbarger in 1991; son, Charles Dale Harshbarger in 1959; 3 brothers, Ernest, Richard & Charles Wright; 3 sisters, Verda Paulus, Francis Shuff & Juanita Taylor.

Joan is survived by 3 sons, James L (Karen) Harshbarger of Shertz, TX, Brett (Janelle) Harshbarger of Troy & Brent (Sandy) Harshbarger of Callaway, FL; daughter, Kim Harshbarger (& friend, Sandy Neds) of New Carlisle; 10 grandchildren, Kristain (Matt) Myers, Jeremy (Amber) Harshbarger, Nikka (Andy) Helkenn, Zachary, Chase & Allie Harshbarger, Colt Harshbarger, Karey, T.J. & Jared Lindsey; 4 great grandchildren, Stetson Helkenn, Audrie Harshbarger, Alivia Harshbarger & Isabelle Myers; special friend, John Beener of Casstown; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many dear friends.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 1pm at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Chaplain John Eshelman officiating.  Interment Highland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday 5-8pm at the funeral home.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, CASA, VFW or AMVETS.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
