Floyd A. Shumaker, age 73 of Sidney, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at his home. Floyd was born in Piqua on September 10, 1950 to the (late) Floyd E. & Mary K. (Manning) Shumaker; a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1968; retired with 30 years of service from ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation); enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes and especially old TV shows; a member of the Troy Eagles Aerie #971; member of AMVETS, Troy, VFW, Piqua, American Legion, Piqua; member of the VETS (Veterans Elite Tribute Squad); enjoyed camping, collecting guns, and hanging out with his friends; but most of all, he loved his family. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Helen Shumaker. Floyd is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sherry (Pry) Shumaker; children, Jennifer “Jenny” & husband, Richard “Joe” Wagner of Piqua, Jon Shumaker & Cassandra “Bear” Gray of Piqua; three grandchildren, Mary & husband, Jake Argabright, Joshua Wagner, and Jana Wagner; great-granddaughter, Avery; brother and sister-in-law, Guy & Margie Shumaker of Springfield, OH; niece, Sara & husband, Phil Prueter; and many friends. Gathering of Family and Friends 10-12 Noon PM Friday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, then we will go in procession to Pleasant Hill Cemetery for Interment of Cremains with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
