Alice Jayne Westfall, age 100 of Covington, passed away at Genesis Healthcare, Troy, Friday, July 7, 2017.  She was born February 25, 1917 in Piqua, to her parents, Frank Martin Miller, Sr. and Alma (Brinkman) Miller.  Jayne graduated from Covington High School, Class of 1934.  On February 12, 1939 she married Norval Westfall and they shared a life together for 60 years.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norval Westfall, whom she lovingly cared for through a lengthy illness until his death in 1999.  Also, preceding Jayne were younger sisters, Margaret “Tooky” Townsend, Norma Masters, and Lois Pauline “Polly” Andres, and younger brothers, John “Johnny” C. Miller, Carl A. “Butch” Miller, and Frank M. “Bud” Miller, Jr.  Jayne dearly loved serving at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Piqua.  She played the piano and was a beloved children’s Sunday school teacher for 50 years.  Jayne and Norval volunteered for many years at Dettmer Hospital in Troy.  She filled their home with piano music, the smell of her famous sugar cookies, her abundant collection of teddy bears, and love.  Left to cherish her memory are her many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.  The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living of Piqua, Genesis Healthcare of Troy, and Hospice of Miami County for the wonderful care given to Jayne during her declining health.  Graveside service Wednesday at Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg at 1:00 P.M.  Visitation will be held 2:30 to 3:30 with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:30 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Piqua with Pastor Mike Havey and Dr. William Heth officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 248 Wood Street, Piqua, Ohio 45356 or Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
