Arthur L. Wehneman, age 93, a lifelong resident of Houston, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Art was born in Houston on February 24, 1925 to the (late) Lawrence & Goldie (Mader) Wehneman; was a graduate of Houston High School; a Korean War Army Veteran; member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Covington his whole adult life; member of the Melody Men; a member of the Houston Community Center; lifetime carpenter; a member of the Houston Fire & Rescue; past Secretary for the Bowling League, Covington and Troy; member of the Shelby County Grange; member of the Miami County Radio Club; loved taking trips to Colorado twice a year; and was a private pilot who loved flying. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Wehneman; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel & Merle Jackson; sister, Opal Kingery; and close friend, Kate O’Roark. Art is survived by his sister, Nola Hines of Troy; brother-in-law, Virgil Kingery of Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Ron Green officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM Monday until time of service at the church.
