Bette Jean Johnson, age 94 of Bradford, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Mount Caramel St. Ann’s, Westerville. She was born April 17, 1924 in Covington to the late Floyd Martin & Irene Marie (Dunn) Trydle; attended Bradford Schools; a member of the Bradford Presbyterian Church; member of the Bradford Railroad Museum; & co-owner of Jay’s Economy Meats, Bradford.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, Jay Allen Johnson in 2008; 2 brothers, Robert & Floyd Trydle; & sister, Gladys Hill.
Bette is survived by 1 son, Gary Allen (Linda) Johnson of Tipp City; 2 daughters, Carol Ann (Jan) Mottinger of Bradford & Jayne (John) Cassidy of Columbus; 3 grandchildren, Cindy (Jeremy) Baird, Chad Johnson & D.J. (Ping) Perkins; 7 great grandchildren, Cole, Carson, Chloe & Jackson Baird, Madelyn & Jayna Johnson, & Natalia Perkins; & many other relatives & friends.
Funeral Service will be held Monday at 1 pm at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Daryl Peeples & Mike Buker officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 pm & again Monday from 12 noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bradford Fire & Rescue Dept.
