Billy E. “Skinny” Peeples, age 93 of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. Bill was born in Bradford, Miami County on November 8, 1924 to the late Ora & Lena (Mathias) Peeples; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1943; a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII; retired from Pennsylvania/Conrail RR in 1984 with 38 years of service; a member of the American Legion, Greenville; member of the Bradford Church of the Brethren; attended Greenville Christian Church; spent his winters in Florida for 29 years and his summers at Lake Erie; was an avid fisherman; and enjoyed sitting and cracking pecans. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane Peeples; son, Dwight Peeples; sister, Margaret Hartman; and five brothers, Herschel, Earl, Bob, Charles & James Peeples. Bill is survived by his loving wife, whom he married November 30, 1948, almost 70 years, Helen Marie (Sell) Peeples; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl & Faye Peeples of Bradford, Donald & Rhonda Peeples of Ansonia; seven grandchildren, Daryl Jr. & Tammy Peeples of Rushsylvania, OH, Penny & Jami Miller of Greenville, Karen & Jason Petty of Bradford, Adam & Shiloh Peeples of Indiana, Jackie Jones of Versailles, Pamela Phillips of Gettysburg, Josiah Peeples of Camden; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Harold Williams of Bradford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday at Greenville Christian Church, Bradford with his son, Pastor Daryl Peeples officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors.
