Charles Daugherty, age 73 of Bradford, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.  Charles was born in Dayton on July 17, 1943 to the (late) Alvin George & Josephine (Adams) Daugherty; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1961; a U.S. Navy veteran stationed on the USS Witeck, DD-848; was a retired electrician with 28 years of service at General Motors; a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bradford; a retired member of the Bradford Fire & Rescue; member of the Board of Trustees of the Bradford Public Library; a F & AM of the Gettysburg Masonic Lodge #477; member of the AMVETS Post #66, Covington; member of the American Legion A.B. Cole Post #80, Covington; and member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton.  Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda (Swanson) Daugherty on January 31, 2017; foster parents, Harry & Ruth Shafer; sister, Margaret Shuff; and brothers, Harry J., Joe R., & Dean Shafer.  Charles is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Bob” & Sarah Daugherty of Bradford, Chris & Brooke Daugherty of Maineville, OH; five grandchildren Olivia, Logan, Colton, Caidynce, Brayden Daugherty; two brothers and sister-in-law, Billy & Ruth Ann Shafer of FL, Paul Shafer of West Milton; two sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Gridley of Kettering, Naomi & “Sonny” Harrison Monnier of Covington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral service 10:30 AM Monday at Bradford First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mike Buker officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.  Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bradford Fire & Rescue.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com
