Joseph A. Paxson, age 82, of Covington, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home.  He was born April 21, 1935 in Pennville, IN to the late Floyd E & Mary C (Griffin) Paxson; a graduate of Springfield Catholic High School; worked for the Railroad for 10 years; retired from GM after many years of service; then worked at Healthcare Pharmacy, Covington; a member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, Covington; also attended St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua; volunteered at the Bethany Center, Piqua; the main joys in his life were his church & his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Paxson Sr.; twin sister, Joann Cook; & sister, Janie Nathaniel.

Joe is survived by his wife of 26 years, Catherine “Cathy” Ann Paxson; 6 children, Mark Paxson of Columbus, Monica Paxson of FL, Doug & Lindsey Paxson of Springfield, Shanda & Kelly Deeter of Covington, Tracy & Dane Zimmerman of Dayton, Nikki & Jason Angle of Covington; 12 grandchildren, Alison Paxson, Juliana Paxson, Zach Deeter (Crystal Gumm), Cali Deeter, Kyler Deeter, Madison Colbert, Colin Colbert, Zachary Zimmerman, Andrew Zimmerman, Samantha Whiteman, Brogan Angle & Brant Angle; 4 great grandchildren, Braydon Pergram, Talon Pergram, Kayleigh Deeter, & Saiga Selle; sister-in-law, Jackie Paxson of Kettering; his 2 little doggies, Charlie & Beckham; & many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Memorial Mass to be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Covington with Father James Duell celebrating.  The family will receive friends in the church Parish Hall from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or Hospice of Dayton.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
