Henry Marvin Godwin, age 60 of Versailles, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Marvin was born in Camden, NJ on October 14, 1958 to the (late) James Henry & Rose Marie (Murray) Godwin; was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Darlington, SC, Class of 1977; retired U.S. Air Force Veteran with 20 years of service, serving from 1977-1997; past member of AMVETS Post #66, Covington; loved his grandchildren; was an avid card player and loved to gamble; enjoyed refurnishing furniture; was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Allen Godwin. Marvin is survived by his wife of 11 years, Debra A. (Drieling) Godwin; children, James & Brittany Godwin of Marysville, Kimberly & Shay Thompson of Piqua, Zachary Godwin of Troy, Josh & Melinda Baker of Arlington, OH, Jeremy Baker of Rapid City, SD, Brian & Tricia Baker of Houston; ten grandchildren, Lucy Baker, Caiden Baker, Jenna Baker, Raegan Godwin, Caleb Baker, Viviane Baker, Whit & Piper Thompson, Violet Baker, & Mason Godwin; and one grandchild on the way; brother, George Albert Godwin of Darlington, SC; other relatives and friends. Funeral service 2:00 PM Thursday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor John Shelton officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors provided by the Veteran Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation from 12 Noon Thursday until time of service at the funeral home.
