Mary Patricia Van Atta, age 89, was born February 12, 1928 in Miami County to the (late) Leslie & Veda (Heitzman) Van Atta; died July 4, 2017 at Garbry Ridge, Piqua, OH where she resided the last four years; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1945; a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1949 where she was a member of the Delta Zeda Epsilon Sorority.  Mary was a world traveler, between her jobs at Westminster Presbyterian Church and NCR in Dayton and Stock Broker Firm in Chicago.  There were not many countries that she missed.  Mary was a member of the Covington Presbyterian Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur H. Van Atta; nephew, Jeffrey Van Wenrick; and niece, Nancy L. Van Atta.  Mary is survived by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Wenrick; nephews, Tom Wenrick and Philip Van Atta; and nieces, Julie Ruggieri and Barbara Cooper.  A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Greg Kurts officiating.  Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington.
