Viola M. Beaver, age 91 of Covington, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Brookdale of Troy.  She was the daughter of the (late) Ernest and Bessie (Root) Gibson and was born on March 31, 1926 in Darke County.  A graduate of Ansonia High School, Class of 1944 and on June 24, 1944 she married Lester Beaver.  Viola retired from Joe Thoma & Sons Jewelers, Piqua with 20 years of service as bookkeeper; a past member of the Gettysburg Grange; a member and sang in the choir of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Covington; was a volunteer for Hospice of Miami County for many years; and she participated with Crafts with Carol at Brookdale of Troy.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Lester Beaver in 2003; and brother, Forest Gibson.  Viola is survived by her son, Gary, two daughters, Nancy Bonfield and Beverly Connell (Phillip).  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Luella Spain and Mary Weaver; other relatives and friends.  Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Rev.
