Albert "John" Thompson

Albert “John” Thompson, age 73 of Covington, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  John was born in Piqua on September 7, 1951 to the (late) Ford William & Mary Emma (Boehringer) Thompson; worked for many years as a Truck Driver and previously had worked many years as a Tree Trimmer; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; a member of the V.F.W. Post #4235, Covington; and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Ann Thompson in 2021; and brother, James Lee Thompson.  John is survived by his three children, Annie & Chris Shilt of Covington, John William Thompson (Carrie McKibben) of Covington, Jennifer Johnson and her fiancé, Sean Fisher of Covington; five grandchildren, Zach & wife, Kelsey Shilt of Troy, Jessica & husband, George Matthys of Centerville, Gage Weyant of Alger, Michigan, Dalton Sherard of Celina, and Emalyn Johnson of Covington; two great-grandchildren, Quinn & Miles Shilt; sister and brother-in-law, Janet & Ben McRoy of Middletown; special friend, Pauline Sage of Piqua; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 11:00 Tuesday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Ben McRoy officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.  If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
