Connie L. Cecil, age 81 of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Connie was born in Troy on April 4, 1942 to the (late) Delbert & Helen (Idle) Brandt; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1960; was owner/operator of Brandt’s Restaurant, Piqua; worked at Piqua Memorial Hospital for 19 years; a member of the Covington Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Aerie #3998 and baked pumpkin rolls and funnel cakes for Ft. Rowdy Gathering and also sold them at the Farmer’s Market in Piqua; a member of Covington Newberry Historical Society; enjoyed crocheting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting, and working jigsaw puzzles; she loved bingo and casinos and was a “gambler till death.” Preceded in death by her parents; special cousin and partner in crime, Patricia Langston; brother, Delbert Dewayne Brandt; infant sister, Linda Brandt; and sister, Cynthia Alspaugh. Connie is survived by her children, Lori (Cecil) Miller & Carl Moyers of Piqua, Daren & Angela Cecil of Piqua, Angela & Robert Bim-Merle of Piqua, Bradley & Lisa Cecil of Covington; eight grandchildren, Maria & Bryan Wysong, Kate & Kevin Roberts, Father Zach Cecil, Kayleigh & Austin Sell, Ashley Cecil & fiancé, Trey Rittenhouse, Robert Bim-Merle IV, Mitchell Bim-Merle & Claire Bim-Merle; seven great-grandchildren, Rosie, James, & Jack Wysong, Allen, Emmett, & Owen Roberts, Bronson Sell; special friends, Patty, Phyllis & Kim; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Prayer Service 11:00 AM Tuesday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Father Zach Cecil officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Visitation 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Covington Eagles Ladies Auxiliary or Ft. Rowdy Gathering.
