David Kent Ross

David Kent Ross, 82, of Covington passed away in the early morning hours of April 28, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County. Born June 21, 1942 on Father’s Day to the late Emmett and Jessie (Darst) Ross he married Barbara (Burnside) Ross, she survives. He will be missed by his children Stacey (Bob) Ross-Hicks of Lockington and David (Jennifer) Ross of Greenville. He is survived by grandchildren Jess-E (Dana) Ross of Arcanum, Shelby (Ashton Tate) Ross of Berea, KY, Brittney (Taylor) Reames of Covington, Derik (Shannon) Ouellette of Covington, and Justin Sowers of Sidney. He had 14 great grandchildren with another due in July. He also had one great great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by a sister Rosadel Welbaum, an infant sister, niece Sheila Lutz and great niece Hallie Rose Fitzgerald.

David served over two years in the US Army just prior to the start of the Vietnam War. He was in the Big Red One unit of the Army. He was a sharp shooter. He was very proud of his duties, but his favorite was driving the Captain around. After the service, he was a truck driver for many years which he received several safe driving awards. David loved going to Bemidji, Minnesota whenever he got the chance and also talking to fellow CBer’s on the radios.

Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM on May 8, 2025 at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, 160 N. High Street, Covington, OH. Memorial contributions to may be made to Hospice of Miami County. Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
