Dennis Lee McDowell

Dennis Lee McDowell, age 81 of Tipp City, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his home.  Dennis was born in Piqua on July 17, 1943 to the (late) George & Juanita (Wallace) McDowell; a graduate of Piqua High School, Class of 1961; and received his Bachelor’s Degree from  University of Dayton in Aeronautic Analysis/Mech Engineering and retired with 34 years of service as a Senior Master Sargeant from the U.S. Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard, in charge of the Maintenance Unit on F-16s at Springfield Air National Guard Base and was with the 178th Wing; lived in Clearwater Beach, Florida from 1972-1977; enjoyed working on his computer and also watching movies and TV; loved vacationing in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years, who he married on October 18, 1969, Peggy Jean (Laughman) McDowell; daughter and son-in-law, Meredith & Stephen Goldsmith of Union; two grandsons, Hunter Goldsmith and Lucas Goldsmith; brother and sister-in-law, Ted & Rosalyn McDowell of Troy; other relatives and many close friends.  Private Services at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
