Garth “Buddy” R. Jones, age 63 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville. Buddy was born in Piqua on December 20, 1960 to James & Glenna (Reck) Jones; attended Bradford High School; was a U.S. Army Veteran; worked for eight years as a self-employed driver with FedEx; also had worked at Superior Aluminum, Russia and Abbington Steel in Brookville; a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America; loved to go on car rides – took people anywhere they needed, delivered meals to folks – he loved to help people; enjoyed getting good deals at garage sales and properties he owned; enjoyed going on Mexico Mission Trips with the Bradford Church of the Brethren – Common Ground Christian Church; loved to go fast on the electric scooter but he loved to walk too; a true Trump fan; enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sports and activities; met his wife while he worked at the Arcade Room/Pool Hall in Bradford and he enjoyed the game machines; was very proud of his beard; wanted his grandchildren to be happy and made sure their friends were included – his advice to them was, “go find your adventure!” Preceded in death by his father, James Jones and his brother, Carth Jones. Buddy is survived by his mother, Glenna Jones of Bradford; by his wife of 41 years, Diane (Manning) Jones; his three children and their spouses, Kisha & Brandon Hughes of Goshen, IN, Elisha & Dustin Pitman of Sanford, NC, and Aaron Jones of Bradford; nine grandchildren, Mavrick, Temperance, Casey, Andrew, Darren, Bayleigh, Araya, Archer, and Aleyah; five siblings and their spouses, Nicki & Dan Huff of Bradford, Jimmy & Lisa Jones of Troy, Curtis Jones of Bradford, John & Kay Jones of Bradford, Wanda & Jay Roberts of Bradford; his sidekick, Coco; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor John Shelton officiating. Interment Gettysburg Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation 5-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
