Gary L. Glaspie, age 87 of Arcanum, formerly of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County, Troy. Gary was born in Phoenix, Arizona, Maricopa County, on February 1, 1938 to the (late) John L. Glaspie & Francis Evelyn (Harper) Glaspie Reilly; retired from Agra-Erectors as a mechanic with 17 years of service in 2002; worked for many years for Royal Crest Distributors; was the manager of the fairgrounds for Arizona State; ran the Zamboni in Arizona for the Phoenix Roadrunners; he was very creative/engineering different items; was a master tinkerer in his garage; was an avid fisherman; loved feeding his squirrels and birds; enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers; an awesome storyteller, especially his fishing stories; but most of all, he loved his family. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carole Dean Pendergast Glaspie in 1970; second wife, Bonnie Lee Brown Glaspie in 2009; two daughters, Shelley Glaspie and Ellen Gleason; grandchildren, Kelly Moore and Cassandra Gibson; step-children, Douglas Alan Huston, Penelope Staten, and Debbie Lynn Gibson; and step-brother, Fred Reilly. Gary is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Christine & David Kessler and Jane Moore, all of Arcanum; son-in-law, Joe Gleason of Bradford; 17 grandchildren, Jennifer Milyard (Nathan), BriAnne Miller (Neil), Charlotte Haenz (Xavier), Daniel Moore (Emily), Nicholas Kessler (Megan), Alexander Kessler (Shelbi), Thomas Kessler, Caroline Gleason, Selena Gleason, Christopher Gleason, Christine Huggins, Michelle Stewart, Matthew Gibson, Joshua Staten, Jared Rollins, Sommer Rollins, and Rebecka Hillebrandt; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Arvilla Glaspie Holm of Phoenix, AZ; other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 AM at the Family of God Ministries, 310 W. South Street, Arcanum, OH 45304 with Rev. Joe LeMaster officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM Saturday the 14th until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.
