George J. Barker, age 92 of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Hamond Henry Hospital ER, Illinois. George was born in Harrisville, WV on December 21, 1928 to the (late) George Clifton & Violet Mae (Reeves) Barker; graduated from Harrisville High School, WV; completed one year of college; was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving for three years at the Pentagon; worked as a Job Foreman for Hobart Corporation, Troy with 18 years of service; previously worked at NCR, Dayton with 20 years of service; a member of the Bradford Church of the Nazarene; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; shot archery in his younger years; an avid tennis player; and loved playing golf. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Naomi C. Barker in 2003; daughter and son-in-law, Maria & Dave Floyd; granddaughter, Angela Keller; twin brother, Gene Barker; half-brother, Stephen Barker; and mother of his children, Ginny Jones. George is survived by his children, Kelly & Brenda Barker of Bradford, Tonya Hollis of Covington, Virginia Tamara “Tammi” & Darren Whalen of Atkinson, IL; eight grandchildren, Josh & Amy Barker, Krystal & Brock Kiser, Randy Hicks, Nellie & Andy Mack, Jeff Keller, Charlie & Kari Hollis, Bobby & Carey Floyd & Joey Floyd; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Zon Barker of Sevierville, TN; niece, Deb Snodgrass; and many friends. Funeral Service 12 Noon Monday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Louis Reindel officiating. Interment Willow View Cemetery, Dayton with Military Honors.
