Gloria Ann Peters-Moorman, age 89 of Bethel Township, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Daysprings of Miami Valley, Fairborn. Gloria was born in Dayton on October 20, 1933 to the (late) Clyde & Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Montgomery; was a graduate of Beavercreek High School, Class of 1951; worked for three years as a Receptionist at WPAFB; a member of the Brandt Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, on the church council, and was proud that she was the first woman that could serve communion; a member of the Dayton Organ Guild; a Den Mother with Cub Scouts for several years, when her boys were young; loved watching horse races; for many years she was a “Professional Stripper”…of antiques; and a wonderful supporter of her family, attending sporting and musical events. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Richard Lee Peters in 1993; second husband, Raymond G. Moorman, Sr. in 2013; daughter-in-law, Judy Moorman; sister, Martha Spitler; and three brothers, Govie Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, and Rocky Montgomery; close friends, Dan Sims and Carla Sadowski. Gloria is survived by her three children, Dana L. Peters of Dayton, Julie M. & husband, Raymond G. Moorman Jr. of Bradford, Lon & wife, Christine “Chris” Peters of Tipp City; step-children, Raymond G. Jr. & Julie Moorman of Bradford, Richard Moorman of Beavercreek, and Renee “Bootie” & Brian Kern of Beavercreek; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Celebration of Life Service 11 AM, Saturday, September 2nd at North Riverdale Lutheran Church, 45 Kurtz Avenue, Dayton. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle. Visitation 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brandt Lutheran Church.
