Hope Ann Peeples, age 55 of Piqua, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Piqua, due to an automobile accident. Hope was born on May 20, 1969 in Piqua to Arlen “Duke” Lee & Ruby Jewel (Trittschuh) Peeples; a graduate of Piqua High School; a member of the Covington Presbyterian Church where she was also a Worship Committee Chairperson, Deacon, President of the Board, Choir and Sunday School Teacher, and on the Board of Sessions; member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; she had recently worked at Upper Valley JVS in the Daycare Center; she babysat for many years; previously was a Teacher’s Aide at Washington School, Piqua for Tina Watts and also Covington Elementary School for Laura Deubner; she took ballet classes for a year and tap dance for nine years; she loved to read, fish, sing, and dance; mostly she loved going to Gatlinburg. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie & Leah Trittschuh and Herchel & Garnett Peeples; her father, Arlen “Duke” Peeples in 2005; her sister, Holly Renae Peeples in 2022; aunts and uncles, Wayne & Jean Peeples, Paul Trittschuh, Carl & Phyllis Trittschuh, Helen Dancer, Treva & John Heft, Patty & Richard Cox, and Delores & John Blake. Hope is survived by her mother, Ruby Peeples and her friend, Dennis Grothouse of Piqua; aunts and uncles, Lester & Sharon Trittschuh of West Milton, Carolyn & David Engle of Piqua, Peggy & Tom Hill of Versailles; special “adopted” nephew, Allen Schrubb of Piqua; special cousin, Mindy Phlipot of Covington; the love of her life, Mark Schurr of Sidney; special friends, Krissy & Katey Schear of Piqua, Beth Greene of Troy, Donna Grillot of Rossburg; cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 12 Noon Tuesday at the Covington Presbyterian Church with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be 10 Am Tuesday until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Covington Presbyterian Church or Ohio Hospice of Miami County.
