Howard Dale Wynia, age 86, passed away after a short illness on January 14th in Dayton, Ohio. Howard was born in Sheldon, Iowa on October 11, 1936, and graduated from Ashton (Iowa) High School. After high school he joined the Navy and served as a machinist’s mate on board the USS Putnam where he served from 1956 to 1960. He was a retired building maintenance supervisor for the Wright-Patterson AFB Air Force Materials Laboratory where he used his carpentry, mechanical and electrical skills for over forty years. Howard loved fishing and hunting and was an avid woodworker. He blessed many people with his woodworking creations. He especially enjoyed being with his family sharing good meals and good times. Howard is preceded in death by parents Louis and Tena, brothers Don (Gladys), Paul and Leslie Wynia, his sisters Marjorie (John) Kannegieter and Dorothy (Neil) Sieben, wife Mae Ann (Abney) Wynia, son Jeffrey Wynia, stepchildren Grover (Sue) Abney, Judy Phillips, and Jim Kremer.

All that survive him will miss his gentle presence and good humor and cherish the memories that we all created and shared together over the many years.
A public interment ceremony with military honors will be held Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery. The cemetery entrance is located on State Route 48 approximately 2 miles north of Covington, Ohio.
