Jack J. Besecker, age 85 of Covington, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at his home. Jack was born in Bradford on August 19, 1935 to the (late) Carl & Retha (Gray) Besecker; a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1955; retired as owner for 12 years of KGS Incorporated; 15 Varsity letters out of 16 during his high school athletic career; held the discus record at Bradford for over six decades; had 1333 points in his Basketball career; an amazing athlete in every sport; a past member of Bradford Fire Department; Peewee Football Coach; ran the chains “chain gang” for Bradford football; was a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame, Bradford; transformed the Bradford Football Field; designed and helped build his home, a “Jack of all trades”, with two patents owned; loved to travel and go to Florida for 22 years with his wife, Pat as “snow birds”; an avid golfer; enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns; an avid Ohio State fan; and a fan of the Covington BUCCS. Preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Barb Besecker; and his beloved dog and friend, Peppy. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia “Pat” A. (Apple) Besecker; his four children, Robert Besecker of Troy, Chris & Nancy Besecker of Covington, David Besecker & Dean Fairchild of Covington, LeAnne & Barry Murphy of Covington; five grandchildren, Stacy Besecker, Meredith Besecker & Michael Collarin, Channing Wolfe, Haleigh Murphy & fiancé, Sam Christian, & Jett Murphy; three great-grandchildren, Madeline Collarin, Sofia Wolfe, & Josie Christian; siblings, Jerry Besecker of Covington, Christie & Robert Short of Oran, OH, Scott & Patricia Besecker of Bradford, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. The family invites you to meet in the parking lot of Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington at 10:45 AM Friday to go in procession to Highland Cemetery, Covington where there will be a Graveside Service with Chaplain Ed Ellis officiating.
