Jack L. Byram, age 91 of Bradford, passed away today, August 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Greenville on October 20, 1933 to the (late) Howard & Marie (Strobel) Byram; was an U.S. Army Veteran; retired from General Motors; worked 21 years at NCR; a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bradford; a lifetime member of the VFW, Greenville, American Legion of Greenville, and AMVETS Post #66, Covington; was an avid trapper until he was 82 years old and he taught many young boys the trade and skill; he also enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Byram; grandson, Jeffrey Byram; granddaughter, Courtney Knecht; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Rethman; sister, Ardith Teague; brother, Wayne Byram; brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Bob” & Goldie Byram. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rita A. (Magoto) Byram; his eight children, Rick & Donna Byram of Bradford, Jeff & Lisa Byram of Bradford, Linda & Tom Rethman of Versailles, Larry & Debbie Byram of Miamisburg, Lisa & Brian Lavey of Bradford, Karla & Bob Kellar of Greenville, Jenny & Michael Moore of Bradford, Pam & Kenn Grant of Franklin; 16 grandchildren, Megan & Mark Miller, Kevin & Jen Byram, Holly & Brenden Whitford, Ryan & Lindsay Rethman, Brandon & Jen Rethman, Chelsey & Tanner Lephart, Alysha Lavey & Justin Craig, Cory & Kaylee Knecht, Brooke & Eric Keagy, Kelly Moore & Alex Arreguin, Jackson Moore, Bryce McCullough & Alysa Deitch, Blake McCullough, Mason Grant, Brayden Grant, and Carson Grant; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara McCabe & friend, Mike of Homestead, FL; sister-in-law, Hazel Byram of Bradford; sisters-in-law, Helen Huelskamp of Bradford and Nancy Stocker of Covington; special friends, Don & Geri Huelskamp of Covington, Tom Hummel of Miamisburg; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Prayer Service 2:00 PM Wednesday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford followed by Military Honors in the parking lot, provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
