Jacob "Jake" Standifird Obituary

Jacob “Jake” Standifird, age 79, of Nolensville, TN, formerly of Madison, WI died Monday, June 2, 2025.  He was born March 19, 1946 to William Harry and Violet Irene (Peck) Standifird in Binghamton, NY.  At the age of 17, he joined the Army and rose to Staff Sargent E6 serving in South Korea during the Korean Conflict in the Vietnam Era.  He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Riffle, Sharpshooter, Carbine and 1st Class Missileman.  He joined IBM and worked for NCR traveling internationally and headed Stratus Computer’s Global Service Division.  He also worked for Capgemini until his retirement in 2016.  He loved God, his Country and his Family.  He led the Boxborough, MA Cub Scout Pack more than doubling the participation of the youth and contributing to their growth and development.  He kept an immaculate yard and focused on his children and family.  As well as global travel for work, he achieved visiting all 50 states.  He loved live music, attending songwriter rounds held to benefit many a charitable cause.

Preceded in death by his parents; in-law, Richard “Dick” Supinger; sister, Eleanor Kearney; brothers-in-law, Richard Kearney, Richard Kevin Supinger, Wayne Mills, and sister-in-law, Ann Standifird.  Jake is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynne (Supinger) Standifird; children, John (Beth) Standifird of San Antonio, TX, William (Sharon) Standifird of Fulshear, TX, Richard Daron (Heather) Standifird, Logan (Tori) Standifird of Nolensville, TN; eight grandchildren, Alexandria & William Bradley Standifird II, Haleigh (Josh) Wesley, Alyssa & Cade Little, Mason Standifird, Slayd More, Scotland Standifird; brother, Ike Standifird of Evansville, IN; sister and brother-in-law, Anna & Ed DeMiller of Vancouver, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors provided the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad and Ike Standifird.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
