James "Jim" Kiser Obituary

James “Jim” B. Kiser, age 75 of Troy, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Jim is survived by his wife, Marylou and son, Dan (Becky) Kiser of Dayton, Ohio.  He cherished three grandchildren, Katelynn, Sadie and Danny.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty (Hunt) Kiser of Bradford and niece, Robin Kiser.  Being the oldest of five, he was loved by brothers, Ron (Deb) Kiser of Piqua, Denny (Jana) Kiser of Greenville and sisters, Terry (Dan) Fansler of The Villages in Florida and Sue (Denny) Fine of Troy.  He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, many cousins, and many friends.  Jim grew up in Bradford, Ohio, graduating from Bradford High School in 1966.  He graduated from Miami University with a Business Degree in Accounting in 1970.  He served four years in the Navy at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas.  In December of 1971, he married Marylou Huff and became a Miami Merger.  Last December, they celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.  After his military service, he briefly worked for Price Brothers (concrete pipe) and then started the 25 years at his beloved, Mead Corporation.  He earned his Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Dayton in 1979.  Jim was a faithful fan of the Miami Redskins and the Cleveland Browns.  He loved rock and roll music and DJ’d as a hobby.  He was an avid golfer and his favorite partner was his son, Dan.  He loved to read about history and visit historical sites on vacations.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Jim’s life on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Common Ground Christian Church, Bradford, Ohio with Pastor Richard Curtis and Pastor Caleb Chamberlain officiating.  Viewing hours will be from 12 Noon until the time of service.  There will be no graveside service, however, there will be a light meal served at the church, open to all after the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Valleyview Church in Englewood or Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
