James “Jim” H. Cook, age 82 of Covington, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at his home. Jim was born in Piqua on April 4, 1942 to the (late) Mack & Eileen (Warling) Cook. He retired with 44+ years from Hobart Brothers/ITW as Global Manager for Ground Power. When younger, he volunteered as an Assistant Coach in Little League Baseball; also, in his younger years he called and danced in Square Dancing; enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking; and he loved birds. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Verna May Cook in 2020 and his granddaughter, Melissa Herman. Jim is survived by his four children and their spouses, Kim & Mike Parker of Franklin, April & Randy Yoder of Cincinnati, Tammy & Brian Witwer of Tipp City, and Jim Cook of Shetton, CT; grandchildren, Stephanie & John Krupski, Jennifer Fedoryshyn, Joshua & Janet Parker, Kathryn & Payton Caudill, Matthew & Kristen Witwer, Michael Witwer, Megan & Jason Salyer, Kaitlyn Matzek, Hannah Cook, Emma Cook; nine great-grandchildren, Devyn, Madelyne, Hudson, Eli, Tobias, Waylon, Caroline, Bennett, and Edwin. Visitation will be 12:00PM-2:00PM on May 20, 2024 at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Private Graveside Service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.
