James M. “Jim” Burton Sr., age 66, of Bradford, OH passed away on October 17, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1958 in Urbana, OH to the late Oshel and Alva (Boyd) Burton.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Robin S. (Chandler) Burton; three children: Jamie (John) Williams, James Burton Jr., and Jason Burton; grandson: John Williams II; sister: Barb (Howard) Deskins; sister-in-law: Sarah Burton; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews and his dog and companion: Steve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-law: Dean and Patty Burton and Dave Burton.
Jim was a 1976 graduate of Piqua High School. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1976-1980. He retired from the Piqua Police Department and Job and Family Services. He loved spending time with friends and family, traveling, and attending his grandson’s sporting events.
Service will be held 1:00PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford, OH with Pastor Dave Wilson officiating. Interment will follow with police honors in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, OH. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home.
