Jan G. Christian

Jan G. Christian, 83, of Covington, died after a brief decline in health on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home.  He was born February 28, 1941 to the (late) Joseph S. (Sam) Christian and Virginia (Carter) Anderson.  Jan graduated from Covington High School, Class of 1959.  Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Ranger until 1963.  He married the late, Elaine L. Guillozet on 10/3/1964.  They celebrated 49 years together until her death in 2014. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1994.  He was a charter member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998, a charter member of the Pleasant Hill VFW Post #6557, and a member of the Covington VFW Post #4235.  He enjoyed attending Cincinnati Reds excursion weekends with best friends, Amos and Carol Johns.  He was an avid fan of both high school and college football.  He enjoyed attending the Ohio High School football and basketball state tournaments with his son, Joe, and friends, Blair Irvin, John Weikert, and Chuck Beeman.  In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a sister, Beverly Cain, and three brothers, Dennis Anderson, Steve (Randy) Anderson, and Jeff (Bo) Anderson.  He is survived by his children, Kelly Christian of Cincinnati, Joe (Sandy) Christian of Covington, Kathy (Rich) Collins of Ravenna, and Jennifer Christian of Covington, along with his grandchildren, Nick (Ana Eberhardt) Christian, Alex Christian, Erin Christian, Ben (Hunter) Christian, Sam (Haleigh) Christian, Michael (Adam) Collins-Whinery, Josh Collins, and Lauren Christian.  He was affectionately known as GG Jan to his great-grandchildren, Josie and Crew Christian.  Graveside Service will be 10:00 AM Friday with procession lining up at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington at 9:45 AM going to Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington where Military Honors will be held.  Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BUCCS Boosters Association, P.O.
