Jane Shafer, age 79 of Bradford, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at her home. Jane was born in Piqua on August 5, 1946 to the (late) William & Gwen (Thomas) Shafer; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1964; retired from Hobart in Troy; and worked for 22 years with the Bradford Rescue Squad. Jane loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughter, Becca (Rebecca), who she could never stop talking about. Being on the Bradford Rescue Squad gave her such great satisfaction in knowing she was helping others. Jane was very patriotic, loving the colors red, white and blue, decorating with them throughout her home. She loved playing computer games, horses, but most of all, chocolate! Jane’s laughter and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. “See Ya” Jane! Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Fashner. Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna & Craig Lavy of Union City, IN; granddaughter, Rebecca Langdon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol & Rod Kaiser of Bradford, Kathy & Byron Lutz of Phillipsburg, OH, Michelle & Mike Taylor of Piqua, Jodi & Troy Arnett of Sidney; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Celebration of Life Service 11:00 AM Saturday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Bill Thomas officiating. Gathering of Family and Friends 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment of cremains will follow at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with her parents.
