Janice E. Anderson, age 93, of Piqua and formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Garbry Ridge Assisted Living, Piqua. Janice was born in Piqua on September 24, 1930 to the (late) Louis Joseph Sr. & Hazel Irene (Grubb) Meyer; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1948 and was the first Homecoming Queen of Covington High School; retired with 15 years of service from Stanley, Covington; a beautician for many years; a member of the United Church of Christ (Covington Christian Church); a member of Order of Eastern Stars, Covington Chapter for many years; in her younger days was a leader for Cub Scouts; loved to entertain with parties, making everything she needed for the parties, she could make anything and taught her children to do the same; she was very creative and a great seamstress, including making outfits for Halloween and all the American Doll clothes; she enjoyed playing bingo and gambling. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry C. Anderson Jr. in 2018; and brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Janice Meyer. Janice is survived by her three children and their spouses, Scott & Lisa Anderson of Martinsville, IN, Ginger & Rob Belmaggio of Covington, Steve & Heidi Anderson of Covington; nine grandchildren, Dylan (Bree) Anderson, Lindsey Frantz, Wesley Anderson, Sarabeth Anderson, Summer Anderson, Jenna Belmaggio, Nathaniel Anderson, Jacob Belmaggio & Nehemiah Anderson; one great-grandson, Teddy Anderson; sister, Virginia Kiser of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private Family Graveside Service 2:00 PM Monday, May 6th at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.
