Janice K. Simmons York

Janice K. Simmons York, age 82 of Covington, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at her sister’s home.  Janice was born in Piqua on July 21, 1940 to the (late) Gail E. Reeder & Edith P. (Shoffner) Bretz; was a high school graduate of Gettysburg High School, Class of 1958; retired from Stanley Garage Doors, Covington with 29 years of service; a member of the United Methodist Church, Webster; loved flowers; and loved her dog, Molly.  Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul E. Simmons in 1999; second husband, Richard “Dick” York in 2005; niece, Carol E. Firestone; and brother-in-law, Lowell F. Yingst.  Janice is survived by her sister, Judy E. Yingst of Covington; niece, Julie Lowe-Alaslouti (Hasan) of Covington; nephew, Rick Firestone of TN; great-nieces, Megan M. Lowe, Morgan R. Lowe, Leanna Firestone; great-nephew, Logan B. Lowe; great-great-niece, Alana; other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 27th at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor John Shelton officiating.  Interment Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles.  Visitation 1:00 PM Tuesday until time of service at funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
