Jeanne L. Sargent

Jeanne L. Sargent, age 98 of Troy, formerly of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Brookdale of Troy.  Jeanne was born in Greene County, Ohio on December 15, 1925 to the (late) Charles & Elsie Irene (Kern) Leach; a high school graduate of New Carlisle High School (Tecumseh High School) in 1943; received her Associate Degree from Edison State Community College; worked as a secretary and personal assistant for the Hobart family for over 60 years; loved gardening and flowers; and helped organize the Museum of Troy History.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl E. Sargent in 1976; and two brothers, Ralph Leach and Charles Leach.  Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Terry Struchen of New York; two grandchildren, Jonathan Carl Struchen of New York, Sara Elizabeth & Michael Waterman of Michigan; great-grandchild, Sydney Waterman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  Graveside Service 2:00 PM Thursday, June 13th at Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
