Joanne Marie Ferree

Joanne Marie Ferree, age 86 of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Upper Valley Hospital, Troy.  Joanne was born in Marengo, OH on February 14, 1935 to the (late) Joseph Watt & Helen (Penwell) Linkhorn; was  a graduate of Westerville High School, Class of 1953; worked for the Piqua Daily Call/Miami Valley Today, delivering newspapers; previously worked at Allen-A, Piqua; was a member of the Bradford United Methodist Church for 60 years; member of the Bradford Lions Club where she had been a recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award; member of the BAAC (Bradford Area Association of Churches); past member of the Bradford American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; was very active with the Special Olympics with all their sports and helped coach the Swimming Team; loved collecting especially stuffed bears; and enjoyed fishing.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Ferree; son, William Joseph Van Culin; sister, Nancy Anderson; two brothers, Lloyd Linkhorn and Jerry Linkhorn; and father of her children, William Van Culin.  Joanne is survived by her four children, Jeannine Van Culin of Bradford, Craig & Debra Van Culin of Arcanum, Duane & Roxane Van Culin of Monticello, MN, Kyle Van Culin of Bradford; 10 grandchildren, Matthew Van Culin, Laura & Steve Mohr, Luke & Emily Van Culin, Joseph & Emily Van Culin, Arin & Amy Jo Van Culin, Jordayna & Josh Ordorff, Brant & Stephanie Van Culin, Joshua & Kimberly Van Culin, Ryan & Erin Van Culin, Rachel & Tyler Peckham; 25 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 10:30 AM Saturday, November 6th at Common Ground Christian Church, 120 W. Oakwood Street, Bradford with Pastor Dwayne Wilson officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 5-8 PM Friday and again from 9:00 AM Saturday until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ohio Special Olympics.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
