John S. Frantz, age 62 of Bradford, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. John was born in Piqua on April 12, 1962 to the (late) John Edward & Shirley Ann (Punches) Frantz; a graduate of Bradford High School and Upper Valley JVS – Auto Tech, Class of 1980; retired with 29 years of service as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Shelly Company/Stoneco; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post #66, Covington; a member of the Bradford Community Club; an avid Pittsburg Steelers and NASCAR fan; in earlier years he loved gardening, mowing, fishing and hunting; he enjoyed drinking beer, trying new pizzas, and playing the lottery, so this included visiting with the girls at Marshalls or Clark’s Pizza; everyone knew he loved driving around town listening to his music; but most of all, John loved his family. Preceded in death by his parents; and former wife, Bonita “Bonnie” Frantz in 2000. John is survived by his three children, Erica Barga of Covington, John & Logan Frantz of Bradford, and Nikki & Brent Harleman of Bradford; 10 grandchildren, Remi, Zage, Vivian Harleman, Hailey, Haiden, Henry, & Hayes Frantz, and Kynlee & Kasen Dues and Korey Shafer; sister, Terri Miller & John Cruse of Bradford; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Todd & Jessie Frantz and Jim & Sandy Frantz, all of Bradford; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, special neighbors, and friends. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Thursday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Dan Scalf officiating. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Bradford. Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
