John Stephen Hole, age 84 of Piqua, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Stillwater Care Center, Covington. John was born in Piqua on May 13, 1942 to the (late) Harley & Kathryn (Carnahan) Hole Ryhal Skinner; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1960; was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Peace Time. He owned and operated Miami Valley Improvements for many years. John loved birds and enjoyed feeding them and squirrels; was an avid college football fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He loved fishing and going on vacations to Cumberland Lake, Kentucky. Preceded in death by his parents; step-fathers, Paul Ryhal and Kenneth Skinner; two infant sisters, Carla Kay Hole and Judith Ann Hole; brother, Cecil Hole; sister, Sue Gantt; brothers, Evard Hole and Jim Hole; and brother-in-law, Steven Hawes. John is survived by his two daughters, Julie Reck & Darren Young of Bradford, Jennifer & Kyle Cruse of Troy; seven grandchildren, Taylor Welch, Dillon Reck, Teejay Iverson, Tanner Iverson and fiancée, Macy Fellers, Tyler Iverson & Lindsay Pottinger, Macie & KC Fout, and Dalton Reck; two great-grandchildren, Wrenley Fout and Emersyn Iverson; sister, Colleen Hawes of Greenville; mother of his children, Susan Mitchell of Piqua; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 1:00 PM Wednesday at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Versailles with Military Honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.
