John E. Trochelman, age 76 of Fayetteville, NC; formerly of Covington, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Troy. John was born in Dayton on July 5, 1944 to the (late) Lester Leroy Trochelman and Anna Marie (Quinn) Trochelman Pierson; was a graduate of Edison State College and Bluffton University and received his Bachelor’s Degree; retired from Edison State College as an IT Instructor; loved his motorcycles and was a member of the HOGS Motorcycle Club and member of the Southern Cruisers; had been a professional handyman; and was an avid pool player and belonged to the APA Pool. Preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, James Pierson; first wife, Patricia J. Trochelman in 2015; sister, Patricia Shaffer; and two brothers, Don & Jerry Trochelman. John is survived by his wife of three years, Susan (Young) Keels; children and their spouses, James “Tom” & Becky Trochelman of NC, Barbra & Mark Messaros of Troy, Tracy & David Knox of Troy, Jenne & Shawn Winn of Covington; honorary daughter, Charlann Collett of Dayton; step-son and wife, Paul & Sharon Houston of Manhattan, KS; 10 grandchildren, Brandon & Amanda Trochelman, Jesse & Crystal Messaros, Joshua & Danielle Messaros, Kane & Maria Trochelman, Aleah & Chris Pierce, Alyssa & Mike Gil, Connor Knox, Halie Winn, Levi Winn, Anna Winn; three step-grandchildren, Stephanie Houston-Martin & Mike, Donald Z. Houston, Chloe Houston; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman Trochelman of Dayton, Mike & Jenny Pierson of Dayton, Lester & Joyce Trochelman of Phoenix, AZ, Jim & Nancy Pierson of Vandalia, Tony & Julie Pierson of Cincinnati; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Art Young of Fayetteville, NC, Gerald & Cheri Young of Abilene, KS, Rhoda Dibben of Wilmington, NC, Cathy Britt of Fayetteville, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service 10:00 AM Saturday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Chaplain Earl Wagoner officiating. Visitation 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
