Karen R. (Sweitzer) Rudy

Karen R. (Sweitzer) Rudy, age 78 of Sidney, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney.  Karen was born in Springfield, OH on July 26, 1947 to the (late) Marion H. & Mary N. (Brewer) Sweitzer; was a graduate of Shawnee High School and attended college; a member of Sidney 1st United Methodist Church; was a homemaker; enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles.  She also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Karen loved watching “The Voice”, Wheel of Fortune, and especially her “afternoon stories!”  Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Glen E. Rudy in 2011; her siblings, Forest E. Sweitzer, Jesse E. Sweitzer, Jack L. Sweitzer, William Sweitzer, Clarence F. Sweitzer, Dwight Sweitzer, Mary Martha Hatfield, and Marian Sue Jenkins.  Karen is survived by her four children and their spouses, Shirley Rudy of Piqua, Arthur & Joely Rudy of Piqua, Bruce & Tina Rudy of Piqua, and Mareda Rudy of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, Anthony & Kirsten Coots, Kellie Schmidt, Joshua Rudy, Brandy & Jaron Fields, Jessica Rudy, Jessica & Chris Toby, Crew Rudy, Franklin Schmidt IV, Jalisha Rudy, Alex Schmidt, and Daniel & Colleen Rudy; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; special friend, Connie Beers of Sidney; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 29th at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Connie Beers officiating.  Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.  If desired, contributions may be made to Ohio Living Dorothy Love Foundation.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
