Keith "Butch" A. Brown

Keith A. “Butch” Brown, age 76 of Dayton, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.  Keith was born in Piqua on February 10, 1950 to the (late) Herschel & Dorothy (Winkler) Brown; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1969; retired as a truck driver with 50 years of service, his last job was BD Transportation, Dayton; previously worked for Piqua Transfer and at Ernst Concrete for 16 years.  Keith was a member of the Covington Eagles #3998 where he helped to start the scholarship committee; past member of the Covington VFW #4235 and AMVETS Post #66, Covington.  He had been a volunteer fire fighter for seven years with the Covington Fire Department.  Keith was a story teller, full of shenanigans and a jokester; he made wonderful homemade ice cream; coached softball when his girls where young, enjoyed riding his motorcycles;  and considered himself a “Jack of all trades, Master of none”.  Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diana VanDeGrift; and brother-in-law, Michael Wilson.  Keith is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Denise & Jay Murphy of Clayton, Cheryl & Tom Taylor of Kentucky, and Dawn & Donald Gunsauley of Huber Heights; four grandchildren, Nicholas Brown, Jaxon, Christian, and Isabella Taylor; his sister, Sharon Wilson of Troy; his beloved dog, Whiskey; his nieces and nephews, Greg “Hammer” & Melinda VanDeGrift, Janell VanDeGrift & Jason Allaman, Scott & Christine Wilson, and Marc Wilson; great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 10:00 AM Tuesday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington.  Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 5-8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to His Hands Extended Sanctuary, 1560 Dialton Road, St. Paris, OH 43072.  Condolences may be shared with the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
