Leona Mae Thompson

Leona Mae Thompson, age 96 of Bradford, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her home.  Leona was born in Bradford on July 6, 1926 to the (late) Emmitt Ray & Ruth M. (Miller) Hahn; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1946; was a member of Only Believe Ministries, Botkins; belonged to the Mother’s Club; a great seamstress, who could make anything with no patterns; she had trophies from go-cart racing from her younger years; enjoyed square dancing; and was a whittler of wood for many years.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold “Pete” J. Thompson in 1981; grandson, Peter Thompson; great-granddaughters, Caramie Bush & Calli Dunlevy; great-grandson, Austin Waymire; brother and sister-in-law, Paul & Ruth Hahn; and brother, Joe & Leila Hanh.  Leona is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry & Jackie Thompson of Bradford, Tom & Beverly Thompson of Wayne Lakes; eight grandchildren, Jessica & Kevin Scheid, Becky Thompson, Kelly & Jerry Dunlevy, Kim & Jerod Petersen, Kraig & Cathy Spitler, Richard & Angel Jay, Michael & Jennifer Waymire, Todd & Sherry Waymire; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Graveside Service 11:30 AM Friday at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
