Lidia Siegert Goehrich, age 92 of Gettysburg, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at Everheart Hospice, Greenville. Lidia was born in Ukraine of German descent on March 23, 1931. She was orphaned as a young child, losing her mother to tuberculosis and her father and grandfather to the Soviet purge. She was adopted and cared for by her grandmother, Louise Siegert. During WWII, they journeyed across Europe fleeing for their safety. At the conclusion of the war, they found themselves at a refugee camp in Austria where she met her husband, Emil and where they had their first born, Alfred. The next journey in her life brought Lidia and her family to America in 1952, where they made their home in Gettysburg, Ohio. Lidia worked for Neff Athletic Lettering Company in Greenville, Ohio, for 45 years. She was a member of the Greenville Eagles Aerie #2177 and the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles. She loved to meet new people and spend time with family and friends. Among her favorite things to do was attend the activities at the Dayton area German clubs enjoying the cultural food, music, and dancing. Lidia’s hobbies included cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and gardening. Preceded in death by her parents, Martha (Linich) & Alexander Kadach; grandmother, Louise Siegert; husband, Emil Goehrich in 1998; daughter, Linda Boltin; half-sister, Martha Heuts; and daughter-in-law, Mary Goehrich. Lidia is survived by her two sons, Alfred Goehrich and Robert Goehrich, both of Gettysburg; daughter and son-in-law, Lily & Mark Lewis of Greenville; son-in-law, David Boltin of Greenville; grandchildren, Eric (Jenine) Goehrich, Adam Goehrich, Rachel (Josh) Hunter, Daniel (Tiffany) Lewis, Matthew Boltin, & Jeffrey Boltin; great-grandchildren, Dylan (Lauren) Goehrich, Lauryn (Logan) Wilson, Emilia Hunter & Cade Lewis; great-great-grandchildren, Jade Goehrich & MaryLou Wilson. Funeral Service 3:00 PM Thursday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment Gettysburg Cemetery. Visitation 2:00 PM Thursday until time of service.
