Marcella June Colby

Marcella June Colby, age 86 of Houston, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the Versailles Health Care Center.  Marcella was born in Covington on June 10, 1937 to the (late) Emerson & Zelma (Fessler) Mader; a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1955; retired from Hardin-Houston Schools as a Bus Driver with 33 years of service; was a dairy farmer’s wife and enjoyed milking cows; a member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church, Covington; had enjoyed watching Dancing With The Stars with her husband, Richard; a member of the Thursday Afternoon Card Club; enjoyed playing cards and going to breakfast with her bus driving buddies; and she loved to travel – anywhere!  Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Richard Colby in 2010; two sisters and their husbands, Gladys & William Oelslager and Wilma & Ralph Barbee.  Marcella is survived by her sons, Larry Colby & Tara Mitchell of Covington, Craig and wife, Patricia Colby of Houston; three grandchildren, Brandon Colby and Alexandra Myhal, Nicholas Colby and Jessica Colby; great-grandson, Louis Myhal-Colby; brother and sister-in-law, Chalmer & Judy Mader of Tipp City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Ippy Mwakabonga officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  If desired, contributions may be made to the Houston Fire & Rescue Department.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
