Marion L. Bayless

Marion L. Bayless, age 99 of Bradford, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County, Troy.  Marion was born in Bradford on August 10, 1922 to the (late) Grover Cleveland and Margaret (Longfellow) Bayless; a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1941; a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bradford; served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII aboard the USS Sausalito and the US Pocatello; retired in 1985 from Hobart Brothers as a machinist with 32 years of service; and was an amazing woodworker.  Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Margaret (Carine) Bayless; sons, James (Connie) Bayless and Mark (Kristi) Bayless; son-in-law, Craig Canan; sisters, Pauline Harmon, Ruth Reed, and Dorothy Rhoades; and brother, Robert “Bob” Bayless.  Marion is survived by his two sons, Tim (Diane) Bayless, Jerry (Maria) Bayless; daughter, Judy Bayless-Canan; 10 grandchildren, Frani Bayless, Jeff (Sara) Bayless, Joe Bayless, Jeremy (Chandra) Bayless, Jessica (Jake) Lavy, Amber Hoop (Nick Mentrup), Tara Bayless (Steve Bailey), Justin (Abby) Bayless, CJ Canan, Haley Canan; 15 great-grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial with Father Jim Duell officiating and Interment at Harris Creek Cemetery with Military Honors will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bradford Fire & Rescue or Ohio Hospice of Miami County.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com
